MUGA Pitch
Terms & Conditions

These conditions will govern the use & hire of the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) managed by the DCA on behalf of Dishforth Parish Council (the Council) and located at Mowbray Avenue, Dishforth.

 

Opening times: 8:00am to 8:00pm 7 days per week throughout the year, unless by prior arrangement. Free access will be allowed each day between certain hours which will be clearly shown on the noticeboard at the MUGA. During these periods, multiple users may be using the area.

1. General Terms & Conditions

  1. The Council is insured against any claims arising out of its own negligence.

  2. Anyone using this facility, do so at their own risk. Liability will not be accepted for any personal injury or loss or damage of valuables.

  3. Pushchairs may be parked inside the court to the left of the gate against the fence. It is the parent’s or carer’s responsibility to ensure the safety of any child left in pushchairs.

  4. All users of the facility must behave in a manner that does not cause damage to property, or injury or nuisance to other users of the MUGA or the general public.

  5. All users are required to wear flat or dimpled footwear and to make sure the soles of footwear are clean before entering the MUGA.

  6. All users are required to remove any litter – there is a bin directly opposite the entrance to the MUGA.

  7. No dogs allowed on the area except for registered Guide dogs.

  8. All users are to report any damage they have noted on entering the MUGA or that has occurred whilst they are using the MUGA. dca@dishforthvillage.com

  9. Children under the age of 11 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

  10. Whilst water in plastic bottles is permitted, the following are NOT allowed:

  • Spiked or studded footwear

  • Smoking, chewing gum, food or any glass items

  • Use of foul/abusive language or bad behaviour.
     

Anyone observed breaking these Terms & Conditions will be asked to leave the facility and future hire may be refused.

2. Terms & Conditions for hiring the MUGA.
 

No bookings will be accepted or confirmed without acceptance of the above general T&Cs and the following specific T&Cs.
 

  1. The hire rates shown on our website will be reviewed annually and any changes will take effect from 1st April each year

  2. The person who submits a booking request shall be deemed the hirer and will be responsible for payment of all fees payable in respect of the hire.

  3. The hirer must be 18 yrs of age or over.

  4. The hirer will be responsible for all users of the pitch during the booked session and as such will be liable to pay for any damage to the playing surface. Abuse of this condition will result in the hirer’s booking(s) being cancelled.

  5. Admittance to the pitch for a booked exclusive session is NOT allowed until 10 minutes prior to the booked starting time.

  6. Goals and nets are provided. Any additional equipment is the responsibility of the hirer(s).

  7. All bookings for exclusive use of the MUGA pitch must be made at least 48 hours before the session by contacting DCA on dca@dishforthvillage.com.

  8. Block bookings are permitted up to a maximum of 6 months at a time with the onus on the group to re‐book.

  9. Payment is required at time of booking and can be made via BACs transfer. Block bookings will be required to set up a standing order for regular payments in advance of the reserved dates. Details will be provided at the time of booking.

  10. No booking shall be considered confirmed until the hirer has received a booking confirmation email.

  11. The hirer may be liable for the cost of repair of any damage done to any part or contents of the MUGA during their hire period.

  12. If the pitch is NOT left in good clean condition and the terms of this agreement have not been met at the end of each hire period, hirers may be refused future bookings.

  13. Cancellations: The hire fee will be charged if a booking is cancelled within 24 hours of the booking date.  However, if the DCA’s Risk Assessment deems the weather conditions unsafe, a booking fee will not be charged. The hirer can ask for a refund or ask for the booking to be moved to a later date.

3. Safety Policies
 

  1. Health & Safety: Hirers must agree to abide by the DCA Health and Safety policy available to view on this website.

  2. Child Protection: Hirers must ensure appropriate protection of any child involved in activities on the premises.

  3. Risk Assessment All organised groups using the MUGA are required to complete their own Risk Assessment which should include the contact details for next of kin in case of emergency.
     

4. Acceptance of the Terms & Conditions
 

Hire & use of the Pavilion is subject to the Terms and Conditions herein. By making a booking and/using the Pavilion, the hirer accepts these Terms and Conditions. Anyone observed breaking these Terms & Conditions will be asked to leave the facility and future hire may be refused.
